I’ll hold my hands up to it: I am a total Instagram addict, which means I’m always the one on social media duty for my netball team. I can’t help it – I love looking back on all the photos of us, whether we’re celebrating because we’ve just won a game or because we’re soaked from the rain but still smiling. Here are some of my favourite #squadgoals netball poses of 2016. How many has your team ticked off?
Disclaimer: this article is basically a chance for me to show off my amazing pool party pic with Surrey Storm at La Manga #sorrynotsorry
1) The celeb netballer pic
Easier than you’d think to get: famous netballers seem to be universally lovely people.
2) The team selfie

It’s notoriously hard to fit everyone in. Best to give the phone to your tallest defender and take advantage of their long arms.
3) The jumping photo

One of my go-to shots. Has replaced the ‘champagne spray’ for this year’s end of season celebration photos.
4) The reverse squad pic

The Instagram-friendly version of the team huddle.
5) The netball dog
A photo posted by Adele Forgie (@adeleforgie) on
Whether they’re wearing bibs or just watching from the sidelines, dogs are great netball Insta content.
6) Netball yoga

I’m predicting team yoga poses being big in 2017. Get stretching now.
7) Human pyramid

A netball tournament essential. Four-layer pyramids like this one are super impressive.
8) The alternative pyramid

This is a great idea because it avoids all those knee-on-concrete or knee-in-back issues.
9) The end of season glam shot
A photo posted by @antoniahamilton on
Proving that netballers clean up pretty well.
10) The power lunge
A photo posted by Jade Many (@jademany) on
Another one of my hot tips for 2017: team lunge photos.
11) The cheer squad
A photo posted by Dani Reeves (@danifayreeves) on
This is some seriously advanced netball Insta.
12) The winners pic
Terrible photos of me but idc, this was one of the best days of my life. Winning the beamers netball tournament and getting to play in a final against Amanda Newton was so special. #netball #beamersnetballtournament #beamersnetball #GA #exhausted #sunburnt

Awesome to look back on in years to come.
13) The train selfie
A photo posted by Lauren Charman (@lauren.charman) on
Why only document the match?
14) The tour pic
This is the stuff Instagram was made for.
15) The action shot
Great for that professional ‘photographer on the sidelines’ vibe.
16) The netball baby
A photo posted by Omega Netball Club (@omeganetball) on
Super adorable. We should start a line of baby-sized netball bibs and tiny Netburners.
If your team has ten or more of these shots, well done: you are Instagram pros. In all seriousness though, if you’re the Instagram captain of your team, keep doing what you’re doing – your team will thank you for it when they have all these amazing photos to look back on.
