How to cope now the netball season is over

The 16/17 netball season is just about over, which means almost four months with no weekend netball. To keep you busy during this trying time, here are seven suggestions for ways to spend your time.

Not yet part of a club? Find all the summer’s trial dates on our handy map.

1) Have a lie in

The summer months contain precious, precious sleep time.

2) Stay fit

We all know how much of a shock to the system that first match back can be. Lessen the pain by getting the team together to try SportsFit’s brilliant netball workouts. Even better, head to Clapham for a training session with Marnie herself.

3) Find something else to do on a Saturday

I have no image for this. What do other people do on Saturdays? I have no idea.

4) Sign up for summer tournaments

As ever, there are LOADS of great netball tournaments taking place this summer. Check out the Netball Squad Facebook page for all the up to date event info.

5) Sharpen those skills for trials

Trials will be here before you know it so it’s never too soon to get the practice in. Get yourself a Netball Squad ball and read our handy guide to improving your shooting over the summer.

6) Join a summer league

Of course, the best way to keep your netball skills up is to play. There are tons of after-work social leagues running over summer – check out our map to find one near you.

7) Watch netball

There’s almost too much netball on TV at the moment. You can watch the brilliant Suncorp Super Netball league on the Netball Live app, while the Superleague and New Zealand’s ANZ league are being shown on Sky Sports Mix.
